Hoyer Petrolog fuels business demand with 50 Euro 6 MAN trucks

Bulk distribution operator Hoyer Petrolog UK has placed an order with MAN for 50 Euro 6 vehicles, to meet increased demand for its petroleum and bitumen transport service.

The Huddersfield-based operator's current fleet numbers 349 Euro 5 vehicles and it carried out an extensive market evaluation before its first move to Euro 6.

"After extensive fuel economy trials, we concluded that the whole life cost of the MANs was lower than the competition, while the performance of the existing Euro 5 vehicles – and the associated service network – gave us assurance that the ongoing service performance would be continued," says Allan Davison, Hoyer's operations director.

The 50-strong order comprises 30 replacements and 20 vehicles to expand the fleet. The order is for 15 bitumen specification vehicles, 24 petrol non hydrapak and 11 with hydrapak.

The first vehicles are being delivered this month, with the remainder due to go into operation by July.
