Allison Transmission says it intends to present "a complete spectrum" of transmissions for optimising vehicle efficiency at this year's IAA Commercial Vehicles show in Hannover, from September 21 to 30.
This year, there will be a truck area with interactive presentations and displays of its 2000, 3000 and 4000 Series transmissions, as well as a bus area featuring the Torqmatic T280R, as its EV 50 hybrid propulsion module.
Visitors will also be able to see the new Mercedes-Benz Econic NGT CNG tractor fitted with the Allison 3500R, as well as a Mercedes-Benz Zetros with Allison 3000SP, a loading platform and a crane.
New fuel-saving features to be highlighted include Allison's super economy shift schedule (SESS), load based shift scheduling (LBSS) and vehicle acceleration control (VAC).
Allison suggests that it's transmissions are well placed to meet the growing demand for hybrid and natural gas vehicles, particularly with their ability to boost startability when matched to engines with lower torque profiles – such as in bus, refuse and distribution applications.
