The package, called FITS (Fleet Insurance Telematics Solutions), relays data directly to Finch Group's 24-hour claims centre, alerting it to abnormal driving activities and enabling swift response in the event of an incident.
Operators using this service will, say the companies, experience fewer claims and lower costs, leading to reducing premiums.
Vincent Gardner, managing director of Finch Commercial Insurance Brokers, says commercial vehicle operators find it hard to source affordable insurance.
"By tailoring a package whereby the vehicle operator is committed to having a telematics solution installed and managed by Microlise, linked to our 24/7 claims team, insurance providers are able to offer reduced premiums, knowing that costs and risks are being actively managed," he says.
