Isuzu has the right chemistry for Suffolk & Essex Supplies

Rigids
Chemicals distribution business Suffolk & Essex Supplies has taken delivery of a Euro 6 Isuzu Urban rigid, describing it as a “hugely productive vehicle”.

The 7.5-tonne, short-wheelbase Urban N75.150 rigid has replaced an ageing truck from another manufacturer and, according to the East Anglia-based operator, it is achieving a greater payload, better reliability and improved fuel performance.

"By recommending a purpose-designed truck specification for our distribution operation, Isuzu Truck has given us a hugely productive delivery vehicle," confirms Andrew Castledine, director at Suffolk & Essex Supplies.

"To date, we have been really impressed by the volume of products that we can carry on this new 7.5-tonner, as well as the improved overall fuel economy that we're achieving."

The body was specified as a curtainsider with a rear tuckaway tail-lift.

The vehicle is proving ideal to transport a range of heavy and bulky goods, adds Castledine.

"For example we supply pallets of products for the leisure industries and small containers for industrial use. But in addition we have to pump liquid chemicals into our customer's own tanks.

"We do this by using an on-board compressor that pressurises our 1,000-litre vessels which then enables us to make the deliveries."

The vehicle is expected to cover 30,000km a year and has been supplied on a four-year finance arrangement, although the operator expects to run it "for considerably more years than that".
