Iveco flicks the switch on New Daily Electric

Iveco has unveiled the New Daily Electric, an all-electric, zero-emissions vehicle which, says Iveco, offers superior reliability and is ideal for urban operations.

Launched to the European market this week at Ecomondo, an Italian trade fair, the New Daily Electric has an increased payload capacity of 100kg and longer battery life, with an extended range of up to 280km with a three-battery configuration.

Patented flexible charging modes mean the vehicle can be recharged via public or private infrastructure, with charging time of around two hours on a fast-charging station.

The driver can select Eco or Power driving modes. In Eco mode, the engine torque is moderated to minimise energy consumption, without imposing any limits on the maximum speed. In Power mode, the driver can enjoy the full performance of the electric drive motor.

The New Daily Electric also boasts a regenerative braking system, allowing the driver to select the best braking method for the application.

The vehicle has a gvw of up to 5.6 tonnes and a 19.6m3 maximum cargo volume. A pedestrian acoustic alert comes as standard, activated automatically when at speeds of up to 30kmh.

Iveco has also teamed up with TomTom to offer the TomTom Bridge for Iveco, a tailor-made navigation system. A semi-integrated dashboard dock means the system can be detached, if required.
