Wolverhampton-based Jones Skips has upgraded its fleet with new DAF CF 340 six-wheelers, to meet growing demand for its services across the West Midlands.
Supplied by dealer Greenhous Commercials, the new additions are powered by 11-litre engines with 12-speed Traxon automated transmission. The vehicles are fitted with Dennis Eagle refuse bodies and a VWS weighing system.
Safety features include lane departure warning, advanced braking and adaptive cruise control with forward collision warning system. The vehicles are also specified with Spillard 360-degree cameras, with live feedback to base.
Jones Skips has a longstanding relationship with Greenhous Commercials. “They turn things around quickly and with little fuss. Our three mechanics understand DAFs and, while we maintain them ourselves, access to parts is a swift operation,” says Andy Yeomans, the operator’s commercial director.
