Lanes for Drains, the UK's largest independent drainage specialists, has taken delivery of another Kaiser-Whale sewer cleaning Jet-Vac with continuous dirty water recycling, from Whale Tankers.
This latest tanker is mounted on a Volvo's FM84R 8x4 chassis, developing 440bhp and complete with sleeper cab. It's notable particularly for its unusual approach to heavy duty jetting, which recycles water from its suction side – so maximising time spent on site and slashing the time involved in taking on supplies of clean water.
The specialist 32 tonne gvw vehicle will be working across the company's south west regional service centres, operating on preventative maintenance and cleaning contracts with water authorities and utilities.
Lanes for Drains' transport manager Simon Nicholls says: "The Kaiser-Whale remains a high specification unit that leads the field when it comes to continuous water recycling, and therefore supports our strategy of investing in next generation plant and equipment."
And he adds: "With an increasing number of customers demonstrating an interest in this type of tanker, it is our aim to have a Kaiser-Whale type vehicle operating across our entire nationwide network of 23 regional operating centres."
Nicholls also says that Whale provides good back-up – which is just as important in this business as in haulage. "Whale is capable of providing a rapid engineer response service on a nationwide basis that is extremely efficient when it comes to reducing vehicle downtime in a cost-effective manner. They also operate a very efficient parts programme."
