Both are based on the Euro 5 Scania K 400 EB4x2 chassis equipped with the latest generation of Scania's fully automated Opticruise transmission.
The new vehicles include 53 half-leather passenger seats, now standard, along with three-point seat belts, footrests, rear seat tables, Bosch AV equipment with two monitors and a washroom and servery.
In line with previous acquisitions, both vehicles will be maintained at the Scania dealership in Fareham under the two-year standard Scania full R&M contract.
Meanwhile, Scania says 2014 was another strong year in the UK, with a total of 4,752 trucks (80% Euro 6) and 301 buses and coaches registered.
"Our truck registrations represent 17.3% of the UK 18-tonnes and above market, while our bus and coach performance gives us an overall share of 9.7% of the passenger carrying market," comments Scania UK managing director, Claes Jacobsson.
"Regarding the uptake of Euro 6, operators have been quick to embrace our new, fuel-efficient technology," he continues.
"Their purchasing decisions have been supported by many independently-conducted press tests, which have seen our SCR [selective catalytic reduction] only 410 and 450 Euro 6 engines break fuel economy records throughout Europe."
Jacobsson also points to Scania's enhanced parts and services oofering, which includes trailer and tanker support and tail-lift and refrigerator maintenance.
