Early models of the Volvo FH and FM series have been in operation for years and so, says Mehle, the likelihood is increasing of a need for stabiliser link repair.
Symptoms include unresponsive steering, resulting from worn joints or water ingress.
Meyle says its new stabiliser links promise “superb part strength”, thanks to a larger ball pin made from surface-hardened steel and a reinforced connecting rod. In addition, a low-friction high-performance grease ensures optimal lubrication of the moving parts and, along with the top-grade rubber boots, this increases part life.
The links come with an extended four-year guarantee. Meyle recommends that the stabiliser link should be replaced in pairs along with the stabiliser bushings using the corresponding parts.
