Available to customers in the UK and Republic of Ireland, the X Multi Guarantee now covers 37 tyre sizes – and includes X Multi and X MultiWay regional tyres, in all available sizes.
Operators can secure a refund on accidental damage if the tyre has is not yet 50% worn, but the product must be registered on Michelin’s MyAccount web portal within a month of purchase.
Chris Smith, head of truck marketing at Michelin, says:“Fleets that specify budget tyres tend to do so because they believe accidental tyre damage occurs regardless of whether a vehicle is shod with premium tyres or a cheaper alternative – but this is a false economy.”
He adds: “Extending our accidental damage guarantee demonstrates the confidence we have in our tyres.”
The precise amount refunded is based on remaining tread depth, and calculated on a fixed price of £385 for 22.5” tyres, £300 for 19.5” fitments and £200 for 17.5” tyres.
Michelin says operators can activate a guarantee with just four clicks, once the tyre is registered at MyAccount.
Michelin has also doubled the number of tyres covered by its X Works Guarantee, for tyres used in on/off-road applications.
