MIRA expands service in Korea

UK engineering consultancy MIRA has signed agreements to expand its service offering in Korea, aiming to increase confidence in the safety of Korean vehicles and subsequently boost the export market for Korean vehicles and components.
The organisation has signed memoranda of understanding (MOUs) with Lloyds Register Quality Assurance (LRQA) Korea and the Korea Automobile Testing and Research Institute (KATRI). The agreement between MIRA and LRQA will see the UK engineering consultancy collaborate with LRQA on functional safety projects and provide expertise in the application of ISO 26262 at a local level in Korea. MIRA will also help LRQA to set up a specialised course on functional safety and ISO 26262 in Korea. The agreement with KATRI will see MIRA providing driver training, safety development, certification and engineering services, supported by its Korean counterpart's suite of test and proving ground facilities based in Gyeonggi Province. The two companies will work together to help customers test and develop safety aspects for new automotive technologies.
