More major names reveal CV Show 2015 activities

The CV Show (14—16 April 2015, NEC, Birmingham) is looking stronger than ever, with more major names revealing their presence at this year’s major transport event.

DAF Telematics, Hankook, Kwik Fit, Morris Lubricants, Pirelli and Transdek are among the latest to break cover.

DAF Telematics was launched last year with Microlise and is now supplied as standard with all new DAF vehicles on MultiSupport R&M contracts – although it's also available as an optional extra for outright purchases.

Users receive a weekly fuel and asset utilisation report to track fuel and fleet efficiency. They can also access trend reports on fleet operations, via an online portal which delivers everything from safety views to real-time vehicle performance and tachograph data.

Hankook says it will unveil several new CV tyre solutions at the CV Show – including its SmartFlex AH31, a range of medium- to long-haul, all-season truck tyres with load index increased to 154M, for Euro 6 vehicles with 7.5 tonne front axles.

Its TL02 295/60 R22.5 trailer tyre will also be there, adapted for use on car transporters and now with a load index of 152J, for 7,100kg.

Kwik Fit will be working with sister company Central Tyre at the CV Show to highlight its one-stop services to the light commercial vehicle sector – not just fast-fit but also mechanical work for van fleets.

The company makes the point that it has invested significantly to cater for LCV operators and expanded its range of premium, mid- and budget-priced LCV tyres, while also introducing new specialist equipment in its 600-plus UK centres for LCVs up to and including high-roof, long wheelbase models.

Oil blender Morris Lubricants will be launching its Versimax heavy-duty diesel engine oil products, and offering fleet owners the chance to take the Versimax Challenge and see if they could save money by switching.

Former BTRA champion Dave Jenkins, a Morris Lubricants ambassador, will be on hand to meet truck racing fans, and anyone who takes the Challenge will receive free tickets to a British Truck Racing Association meeting during 2015.

Pirelli's entire 01 Series range will form the centrepiece of the premium tyre company's stand, with staff on hand to talk about integrated services for more efficient mobility.

Beyond that, the firm will also be showing its Novateck TR:01 and ST:01 tyres and the associated 'as new' retreading capability for haulage operators, as well as its web-based fleet management and tyre pressure and temperature monitoring systems.

And Transdek says it will focus on its expanding and innovative DUET trailer range, with the launch of two new double-decks at the CV Show.

First, the DUET Wedge double-deck box van is capable of transporting up to 52 pallets, 100% more load volume than a standard 13.6-metre single-deck trailer. Second, Transdek's Mark II DUET Urban double-deck trailer enables high-volume deliveries into city centres.
