The Ware-based operator specified its new 1848 LnR truck with the flat-floored and air-conditioned BigSpace cab, also opting for a low-height frame.
Its high-volume, climate-controlled, three-metre internal height box body is by Wessex Vehicle Services, of Salisbury, and has been fitted with a Carrier Supra 850 U refrigeration unit and 3,000 kg Dhollandia cantilever tail-lift.
“All of our vehicles are on full air suspension as our cargoes require careful handling, and we travel to some pretty far-flung places,” comments managing director David Williams.

Mtec was an early adopter of lower-emission vehicles, having bought its first Euro 6 Mercedes-Benz truck well in advance of Euro 6 legislation.
“People who appreciate art tend also to be concerned for the planet, while a lot of our clients live in London where air quality is an important issue,” explains Williams.
“Mtec has always invested in new technology and chosen premium specification vehicles, not least because they command such strong residual values,” he says, adding that a couple of its 2007 Actros tractor units recently “made excellent money”.
Mtec’s trucks are inspected and serviced overnight by S & B Commercials, under Mercedes-Benz R&M Contracts.
