Supplied by Truck and Bus Wales & West, the truck has a 7.5m³ capacity P8000-Series Hymix concrete mixer and is financed through Volvo Financial Services. It has gone into operation on HR Davies’ contract with Hope Construction.
The new Volvo FH is powered by a 13-litre, D13K engine producing 540bhp and up to 2,600Nm of torque at between 1,000 and 1,450 rpm.
HR Davies’ managing director Haulfryn Davies says he realised how affordable a new truck was, with Volvo’s finance package: “What’s more, with a new truck, I could get the exact specification to suit me and the business.
“The Volvo FH Globetrotter gives me plenty of room and storage space. What’s more, it’s all in a package that’s less than 4 metres high, which was imperative due to loading height constraints.”
He adds: “With the I-Shift automated transmission and the torque that’s available, this truck ticks all the boxes.”
