No carbon penalty as Nissan electrifies UEFA official transport

In a first for the UEFA Champions League, global automotive sponsor Nissan kicked carbon emissions into touch with the addition of all-electric vehicles to the official UEFA vehicle fleet.
The vehicles transported delegates, partners and officials around Monaco yesterday (28 August) as part of the 2014/15 UEFA Champions League group stage draw. Nissan provided its all-electric Nissan Leaf hatchback and e-NV200 light commercial van to transport officials around Monaco, as well as the Nissan Qashqai and X-Trail crossovers and the high-performance Nissan GT-R. "Nissan is delighted to work with UEFA to provide a zero-emission solution to the shuttle service and will continue to explore opportunities with the organisation to further enhance EV use across all UEFA Champions League activity," says Jean-Pierre Diernaz, Nissan Europe's director of electric vehicles.
