MoT testing in the Newmarket area is now available up to midnight, thanks to a development by local Mercedes-Benz dealer Orwell Truck & Van.
Depot manager Lee Seager explains that the firm has extended its workshop to provide a dedicated MoT testing bay – and that, because it is a truck specialist, it's open from early morning until late into the night.
"Although we're a truck and van company, we can now offer Class 4 and Class 7 MoT tests – which cover cars and commercial vehicles with gross weights up to 3.5 tonnes," he says. "So we can now offer tests long after most garages have locked up and gone home."
He makes the point that many tradespeople can't afford to have their vans off the road during working hours, so they can now drop them off at the end of the day ready to roll again first thing the next morning. "We think the service we offer is unique, certainly in this area," says Seager.
Orwell Truck & Van provides sales and support for everything from the Vito van to mighty Actros tractor unit, as well as the Mitsubishi Fuso Canter range of light trucks, throughout East Anglia.
