Past performance drives repeat coach orders

Bus & Coach
The latest two coach order announcements – for Coastal Coaches and Commandery Coaches – both come on the back of positive experience with previous vehicles.

Coastal Coaches is replacing its eight-strong fleet and has ordered five more Optare Solos to complete this task. These are 7.5m Euro 5 Slimline Solos, seating up to 27, and will operate around Blackpool, Fylde and Lytham St Annes.

Bill Holder, owner of Coastal Coaches, says previous performance clinched the deal, both of older vehicles and the first replacement earlier this year: “We have found them to be economical and reliable and they have been extremely well received by our customers and drivers alike. The routes these vehicles serve are quite narrow in places so the slimline Solo is ideal for this purpose.”

Worcester-based Commandery Coaches has taken delivery of a Scania Irizar i6 coach to add to the other two similar model types already in service.

The Scania K 360 IB4x2 chassis is equipped with Scania’s 36bhp Euro 5 engine and fully automated Opticruise gear selection system.

The i6 12.45m body has 53 half-leather seats, tables, footrests, powered entrances and main locker doors, along with extra-dark tinted glass, washroom, servery, dash-mounted fridge, Bosch audio/video with two monitors and reversing camera.
