Pest control business on track for productivity boost

Telematics Tracking
Owl Pest Control has renewed its Fleetmatics GPS tracking contract, after efficiency boosts led to it achieving two additional jobs per day, per driver.
The Leinster, Ireland-based firm has been using Fleetmatics for three years and, as operations director J Christope Izart reports, has secured key productivity benefits. "Since installing the Fleetmatics GPS vehicle tracking system and implementing efficient route plans, productivity has increased greatly within the firm," he says. "As a result, we are now averaging two extra jobs, per driver, per day – to a value of €50 (£42) per van per day – which we would not have achieved without the system in place." The company also uses Fleetmatics to monitor excessive speeding. Izart uses the system's mobile app to receive 'red flag' speeding alerts directly to his mobile phone, enabling swift investigation of flagged events. Owl Pest Control has set up regular customer sites as points of interest on Fleetmatics, creating regular route sequences for routine inspections.
