Spanish transport operator Primafrio has taken delivery of a further 250 DAF New XF trucks, following “excellent reliability and fuel efficiency” from its first 30 New XF vehicles.

Operating from Primafrio’s Murcia base, the trucks are distributing chilled and frozen food, as well as high-value goods.

The New XFs are equipped with 12.9-litre Paccar MX-13 engines, delivering 473bhp, and Super Space cabs.

Juan Conesa, managing director of the fast-growing operator, says the “great new trucks” are part of its business expansion plan for Europe.

The DAF XF, he says, was chosen as “a premium product offering lowest operating cost, among other things, through lowest fuel consumption”.

There are environmental benefits, too, adds Conesa: “DAF surpassed our expectations because it offers low CO2 emissions.

“Also, thanks to the introduction of the New XF for which fuel efficiency has increased by at least 7%, [the truck is] setting a new standard in the industry.”
