Britannia Rescue, part of the LV Group, has teamed up with the Institute of Vehicle Recovery (IVR) to offer subsidised Driver CPC training for its network of breakdown professionals.
Peter Horton, chief operating officer at LV Britannia Rescue, reminds operators and drivers that, from September 2014, drivers of vehicles over 3.5 tonnes will need to have the Driver CPC qualification for which they must complete 35 hours of periodic training.
The qualification is registered to the driver, not the organisation they work for – so drivers are held personally responsible.
"Drivers will need to find the time to complete their 35 hours of periodic training, as well as the money to fund it," states Horton.
"We appreciate this is a huge burden and want to do all we can to help our agents," he continues.
"By subsidising this training, we hope that we can make the training more accessible and help them achieve Driver CPC qualification ahead of the September deadline."
