Recovery firms picks up reliability with Volvo FH16

Recovery Vehicles
Commercial vehicle recovery business Millers of Longton has taken delivery of its first new recovery truck, selecting a Volvo FH16-750 6x4 rigid, with 40-tonne rotator by Boniface Engineering, of Norfolk.

The truck was supplied by Thomas Hardie Commercials, for which Millers provides recovery services.

The Preston-based recovery firm has worked for Thomas Hardie for a decade, often using a second-hand Volvo FH12, which it purchased four years ago.

"The FH12 is now 11-years old, but it has proved to be such a dependable workhorse," says Jack Miller, director of Preston-based Millers.

"Based on this experience and our relationship with Volvo it was really a 'fait accompli' that for our first ever brand new truck we'd turn to Volvo."

The latest acquisition, says Miller, gives his firm the "ultimate in dependability", adding: "The FH16-750 really is a fantastic truck ... I would say the 750 is top of the game in terms of horsepower."
