Ryder furnishes Herman Miller with four Mercedes Actros

Office furniture manufacturer Herman Miller is upgrading its UK delivery fleet with four Mercedes-Benz Actros drawbar rigids, supplied on contract hire from Ryder.

The order is the latest in an 18-year relationship, with the operator citing Ryder’s “exceptional” support and proactive approach as reasons for the deal.

The four new additions are Actros 1843 18-tonners, with StreamSpace 2.3m sleeper cabs and demountable bodies.

Ryder is also supplying eight box trailers and two MAN TGX tractors, converted from rental to lease, together with a Kalmar yard tug.

Pat Furlong, transport operations supervisor, Herman Miller, said: “We have been working with Ryder since 2000 and they have continued to provide excellent service and support for our transport fleet, of which around 50% is supplied by Ryder.

“Ryder’s support from the very beginning of this contract negotiation has been exceptional. We particularly valued their assistance in ensuring we specified exactly the right vehicles for our evolving operational needs.

“We also appreciated their flexibility in ensuring that the contract and service terms met our requirements. Ryder’s proactive approach from start to finish underlines why we have a relationship of 18 years with them.”
