The new truck-dedicated facility offers almost 30,000 sq ft of space across the site, with ample parking and space for truck and trailer manoeuvrability. The facility includes 16 workshop truck bays that boast automated safety systems, as well as two pits, maximising vehicle uptime due to more workshop availability. The site has also been fitted with vehicle test preparation equipment.
The new Truck Centre is located only a mile down the road from the Dealer’s existing Heathrow branch, which is now a dedicated Mercedes-Benz Vans Centre.
Heading up the aftersales team at the new site will be parts manager Emma Joyce and service manager Chris Baker, whose teams will work closely together.
Chris Baker has been promoted from workshop manager at the existing Heathrow site into his new role. He said: “We will maximise vehicle uptime, and the bigger workshop, tacho rollers and ATF lanes in-house will enhance the experience for our truck customers. The new truck centre is also going to be a great site for our staff too, most of whom will be moving across from our existing branch, so customers will see some familiar, friendly faces.”
Joyce, previously parts manager at one of Rygor’s dedicated fleet workshops, is one of them. She says: “I have worked in parts since the beginning of my career, starting out as a parts apprentice at 15 years old. To get to lead the parts team at a brand-new site like Rygor Heathrow Truck Centre is my absolute dream job and a really great opportunity for me professionally. I have worked at Rygor for the past 15 years and have loved working for the company as well as the Mercedes-Benz brand.”
