Scania’s four-year apprenticeships lead to graduation as qualified commercial vehicle technicians, and the annual awards are held to recognise the best performer from each year intake group.
The four winners of their respective year intake groups were: Rory Whelan, Scania Grangemouth (2014); Shaun Richards, Scania Heathrow (2013); Mark Russell, Scania Glasgow (2012); and Dominic Pragliola, TruckEast Peterborough (2011).
Scania also runs an apprenticeship for parts professionals and awarded the 2015 parts apprentice prize to Matthew Yeomans of Keltruck, Burton-on-Trent.
“Our apprentices represent the future of our organisation, and I am therefore delighted that once again our apprentice of the year competitions have been contested by a group of highly motivated young professionals,” says Claes Jacobsson, managing director for Scania GB.
The apprenticeship programmes are run by Skillnet and approved by the Institute of the Motoring Industry.
