Two construction operators in northern Scotland have taken delivery of the area's first Euro 6 Mercedes-Benz Arocs tipper trucks.
ASW Aberdeen ordered an 8x4 Arocs 3240, powered by a 394bhp 10.7-litre engine, while Kintore-based D&E Mackay opted for a 6x4 Arocs 2636 model, with a 360bhp engine. Both were supplied by dealer Mercedes-Benz Commercial Vehicles Aberdeen.
"It's our first Mercedes-Benz and the biggest vehicle we've operated by some margin," says ASW's Ron Fowlie.
"When we've needed an eight-wheeler previously we've always hired one. Recent business growth meant we felt the time was now right to invest in a 32-tonne truck of our own."
D&E Mackay's new addition is its first Arocs and replaces an older six-wheeler that has been stood down.
