Commercial vehicle safety system provider Sentinel Systems is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year and using the occasion to highlight how its range has grown since the invention of the Safetystop reversing system in 1985, by founder Bill Paulson.
The Cirencester-based business says continued sales growth has resulted from its introduction of additional products, notably the Bike Hotspot system, adopted recently by Greene King Breweries and Firow.
Bike Hotspot detects and alerts drivers to cyclists riding up the nearside of vehicles. Other systems include Step and Corner Protect, which alert drivers to obstacles in their blindspots, and radar and ultrasonic versions of its Safetystop reversing system, offered with autobraking or LED alerter options.
The firm has also announced the appointment of Mike Spooner, who will be tasked with driving sales to operators in the waste management sector.
