Representing more than 90% of the total contract, ADL’s order is for 181 Enviro400 double-deckers, 102 Enviro200 midi and single-deck buses, and 31 Plaxton coaches.
As well as high-spec interiors, including USB charging points, the buses are fully LCEB compliant and feature the market’s first stop-start technology.
Colin Robertson, ADL chief executive, says the contract was a “must-win” to support the business and its supply chain in a highly competitive market.
He adds: “[The order] demonstrates that the ADL vehicles previously ordered by the group have consistently proven their worth operationally, as well as helping to increase passenger ridership. The new contract is a strong endorsement of our continual investment in new product development and class-leading service support.”
The vehicles will be delivered to Stagecoach by the end of April 2018.
