Terberg tractor trial seals the deal for Fowler Welch

Tractor Units
Ambient, chilled and FMCG supply chain business Fowler Welch has taken delivery of 12 new Terberg YT182 tractors for its depot-based shunter fleet, supplied on a five-year contract hire deal.
Before sealing the deal, Fowler Welch trialled a high-spec version of the YT182, with additional features such as night heating, extra fifth wheel controls, a training seat and Haldex's soft docking. "At our depots, we have sufficient traffic to justify operating a sizeable shunter fleet," says Paul Allera of Fowler Welch. "For example, our national distribution centre for chilled products in Spalding is home to over 200 trailers that generally require in excess of 5,000 lifts per week from the on-site shunters." As well as distribution shunters, Terberg supplies shunting tractors, terminal tractors, aviation equipment and specialist vehicles.
