Roofing supplier Donaldson Timber Engineering has awarded a five-year contract to Alltruck to manage the transport operation for its Ilkeston, Derbyshire depot.
The deal sees Alltruck providing vehicles, drivers, fuel and insurance, as well as a dedicated transport manager to manage administration such as O licence compliance.
The fleet of 21 vehicles includes: DAF FTG CF 85.460 6x2 Euro 5 tractor units; SDC tandem axle step frame trailers; DAF FAR CF 65.290 6x2 26-tonne Euro 6 flatbed rigids; and DAF FA CF 65.250 4x2 18-tonne Euro 5 flatbed rigids.
All trailers and rigids have been fitted with purpose-built flatbed bodies, by Allfleet Bodyshop Service, to carry the varying sizes of roof truss and I-joist components.
"We feel very safe knowing that Alltruck have us completely covered from a distribution point of view from vehicles to drivers, 24-hour breakdown recovery and even tyre provision for the entirety of the contract," comments Oli James, Donaldson Timber's general manager.
