The company will use the S.CS Fixed Roof curtainsider to deliver dry freight for businesses, such as The Range, across the UK.
The S.CS Fixed Roof – which is now being manufactured at Schmitz Cargobull’s Manchester factory and complies with DIN EN 12642 Code XL load security regulations – joins a fleet of 10 trailers supplied by a competitor, plus two DAF and two Renault tractor units.
The semi-trailer has been built on the manufacturer’s modular chassis, which is said to provide greater strength with well-distributed load and optimised weight. Its modular bolt-on, bolt-off design means the S.CS Fixed Roof is easy to repair if necessary. It also offers corrosion protection and is provided with a 10-year warranty against rust-through.
With two sliding posts and 18 buckles, the curtainsider allows loading and unloading. The steel wires incorporated into the curtain prevent intentional cutting, offering built-in anti-theft protection and added security.
