Van brands offer scrappage scheme savings

Following on from the announcement from Ford in August, three other manufacturers have also announced scrappage schemes as an incentive to buy a Euro 6-compliant van.

In exchange, customers must scrap any make or model of pre-Euro 5 diesel vehicle registered before 2010.

Volkswagen is offering £2,000 off the Transporter panel van and the Crafter, and £1,000 off the Caddy panel van, ordered by the end of the year. It is also offering customer discounts, such as an additional £2,000 on the Crafter.

Renault’s scheme is worth £2,000 for Trafic, Master and Kangoo van orders by the end of the year. It is also offering customer discounts (amounting to £3,500, £5,000 and £1,000, respectively) and other benefits.

Fiat is offering a larger amount of discount for a shorter period: deals are only available until the end of September. Combined scrappage and discounts amount to £5,500 off a Fullback, up to £6,500 off a Fiorino, up to £8,500 against a Doblo, up to £10,500 off a Talento and up to £13,500 against a Ducato.

Ford’s scheme offers between £2,000 and £7,000 for pre-Euro 5 vehicles toward models including the Transit Custom, until the end of the year.
