Vehicle performance tips decision on Mercedes-Benz Arocs for concrete contractor

Concrete Mixers
Concrete contractor JR Allen & Son has acquired a Mercedes-Benz 8x4 Arocs 3243B concrete mixer, after the performance of his 6x4 Axor convinced owner-operator Tom Allen to replace his existing 8x4 truck.
Supplied by dealer Intercounty Truck & Van, Allen's truck is powered by a 428bhp straight-six engine with PowerShift 3 automated transmission. It was equipped with a drum and ancillaries by bodybuilder Hymix of Telford. The truck was also specified with 360-degree cameras to help with visibility when making deliveries in city streets. "It was the Axor's excellent performance that convinced me to invest in my new Arocs," confirms Allen, from his Peterborough base. "It's a superb vehicle, so when I came to replace an 8x4 chassis by another manufacturer I was always going to do so with another Mercedes-Benz," he continues. "The Arocs will also have to contend with some very rough construction sites, on which driving conditions can be extremely demanding," he adds. "But this truck offers excellent ground clearance and, from what I've seen of its off-road capability, I'm confident it will take everything in its stride."
