Vehicle repair firm returns to Stertil Koni for workshop lift

Vehicle repair firm Stepney Brothers has taken delivery of a second two-post lift from Stertil Koni to support growing demand for its services.

The Cambridge-based business maintains and services all marques of car, van and commercial vehicle, and acquired its first lift from Stertil Koni in 2006, with the latest addition bought to equip a recent workshop extension.

“Both lifts work side by side on a daily basis,” says Mark Stepney, director. They operate “smoothly and seamlessly”, he adds, lifting a range of vehicles including Luton-bodied vehicles and large panel vans.

“The first Stertil Koni two-post lift was a 5-tonne model, while our new lift provides us with a slightly higher capacity at 5.5 tonnes,” says Stepney.

From the FreedomLift range, safety features include an independent locking system that engages at 210mm above floor level, a gravity-activated locking pawl, automatic locking of the lifting arms, advanced synchronisation between the posts and a fail-safe automatic overload protection system.

“Our workshop engineers really appreciate the extra features on the new model, particularly the lifting pad range and the special adapters.”

The original lift, he says, has been “second to none” in terms of reliability and versatility. “When it came to purchasing an additional lift, we had no hesitation in choosing Stertil Koni.”
