Veolia rolls out £6m Dennis Eagle fleet for Bromley Council

Municipal Vehicles
Veolia is rolling out a new £6 million fleet of 36 waste collection vehicles for its contract with Bromley Council.

The vehicles, built by Dennis Eagle in Warwick, have been procured by Veolia following the successful award of a waste management contract earlier this year.

The bespoke waste collection vehicles are fitted with 360 degree on-board cameras as well as GPS tracking technology, and are part of the council’s improved recycling and waste services, which launched on 16 September.

Scott Edgell, general manager for Veolia Bromley, says: “The new collection vehicles will allow more people in Bromley to recycle. They have narrower bodies, allowing us to provide recycling services to smaller streets that could not be accessed before.

“The new vehicles also have storage cages that allow us to collect textiles, batteries and small electrical items from the doorstep.”

The vehicles also mean that more residents can have food waste collections each week, where previously the refuse vehicle was too wide to operate in very narrow streets.
