ZF Services UK has completed the merger of its sales and service organisation (formerly ZF Great Britain) in Nottingham, with the automotive aftermarket parts business (formerly ZF Trading UK) in Crick.
Both company sites are being retained but are now operating as a single financial entity, according to Graham Truckel, managing director of ZF Services UK. The Nottingham site was established in 1973 as a sales and service subsidiary of ZF AG, with responsibility for all OE and aftermarket sales, and technical support for ZF products in the UK and Ireland. The Crick site opened in 2004, supplying automotive distribution outlets with OE quality replacement parts under the Sachs, Lemförder, Boge and ZF brands for commercial vehicles. Truckel says product and services have now been grouped together in two new divisions: Automotive Products for car and commercial vehicle, and Special Driveline Products for off-highway, defence, marine, rail and wind turbine activities. No product rationalisation has taken place as a result of the merger. "Combining the activities of our two companies is an important step in strengthening the ZF Services global customer service operation and expanding the aftersales business," comments Truckel. And sales director Addy Doodt adds: "We now have a single telephone number, providing fast access to all departments, and each customer is allocated a service team whose technical service and account representatives can tailor support to individual needs".
