The winner of this year's EuroTra Safety and Innovation Award, organised by the FTA, was Bertocco Shell, a joint venture between Bertocco Automotive Engineering and Shell Chemicals.
Bertocco Shell won the award for its device, which warns tanker drivers of an imminent roll-over.
The unit consists of a sensor between the rear axles of the trailer and a receiver mounted in the truck's cabin.
As the driver changes behaviour, the device provides instant feedback on the stability of the vehicle.
