The scheme is hosted and platformed by the Institute of Road Transport Engineers (IRTE). Administration will be run jointly by the RHA, Logistics UK, The Department for Transport, The Office of the Traffic Commissioner, DVSA, SMMT and several other industry stakeholders.

In this video at the recent Microlise Transport Conference, Leo Hubbard, technical product manager at the Society of Operations Engineers (SOE), of which the IRTE is the professional sector, explains more about MPRS ahead of its official launch.

MPRS is a universal rating scheme that can be applied to all types of workshops, from single-person outfits to international dealers, promoting transparency and consistency across commercial vehicle maintenance, and scoring workshops on their competence and facilities.

Workshops of any size can choose to apply for a rating scheme and will be given one of five different levels that assess the standard of their competence and facilities – Qualified, Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum.
