Crouch Recovery boosts fleet with DAF XF

Leicestershire-based Crouch Recovery has taken delivery of a DAF XF 530 FAS 6x2 rigid, with the vehicle fitted with specialist lifting equipment by Boniface Engineering.

While the operator’s 125-strong fleet carries out most of its recoveries around the UK, it also provides European recovery services. The new vehicle was delivered fully MAUT prepared, for Germany’s HGV toll system, and its first job was to collect a failed rigid from Germany.

The new addition was specified by Adam Crouch, recovery director and grandson of the firm’s founder: “We sourced this latest DAF entirely through Boniface Engineering. We wanted them to fit the latest specialist gear that we needed on it and give us an all-round supply and service support package on their equipment and bodywork,” he explains.

Boniface fitted the XF with its MK 6 Interstater with an additional twin winch and a Maxireach Lowline Under-Lift. The winches handle up to 30,000lbs and the Maxireach Under-lift is claimed to be the lowest and longest in the industry, capable of handling up to 33 tonnes.

Boniface purchased the XF through DAF dealer Chassis Cab, of Ipswich, and aftersales support will be provided by Ford & Slater.
