MAN TGX delivers peak performance for Mountain Transport

Waste operator Mountain Transport, part of Mid UK Recycling, has taken delivery of a Euro 6 MAN TGX tractor – the first MAN vehicle to join its fleet since it operated an F8 model fully 25 years ago.
The Sleaford, Lincolnshire-based operator's TGX 26.480 6x2, which was specified with a Midlift Lite axle, was acquired and funded through MAN Financial Services, and will be supported by local dealer HRVS. Transport director Nick Mountain remembers the F8, bought by his father: "MAN had a strong brand identity then, and that reputation for building tough, reliable trucks exists today," he says. The TGX, with its 480bhp engine, is already showing good fuel performance, he says, and was supplied with a fleet management system, which is proving a boon. "Every day, we're learning just what a useful tool MAN telematics can be in the transport office – and we are very much looking forward to reducing costs and maximising efficiency as a result." Nine new Legras walking-floor trailers will also join the fleet in January 2015.
