ZF advice for chassis checks before weather worsens

ZF is reminding workshops that a thorough check of vehicle chassis before the worst winter conditions arrive could prevent costly repairs.

Slight damage to braking, steering and suspension parts can be exacerbated by salt and grit on the roads, warns the company.

With braking systems, for example, ZF says technicians should not only check wear of the components, but also look for scoring on the disc as small stones and grit can get trapped between the brake disc and the brake block.

ZF Aftermarket’s brands include Lemförder, Sachs and TRW, and include parts for steering systems, chassis components, shock absorbers and brakes.
