Assistant Engineering Manager - Nottingham City Transport

The successful candidate will work alongside the Engineering Manager to ensure the effective management of the maintenance team and the fleet. This will involve controlling the departmental budget and dealing with recruitment, performance management and employee relations matters including discipline. The successful candidate will hold the following skills and experience: •The ability to plan and prioritise vehicle maintenance requirements to ensure that correctly branded vehicles are available for our services and to keep accurate records of maintenance and repair work carried out; •Previous supervisory experience is essential as you will be required to have good people management and inter-personal skills; •A pro-active approach to Health & Safety and environmental issues. In addition to the above the successful candidate will also have a thorough working knowledge of VOSA requirements in respect of PCV's and current vehicle technology as applied to vehicles throughout the fleet and preferably be a member of the SoE (IRTE). Relevant training and development will be given to the successful candidate. The successful candidate will be flexible in their approach to work (working evenings and weekends if required). The salary is paid monthly.
