London United Busways is one of the capital's main bus operators running over 55 routes and 850+ buses out of seven operational garages, one of which is our Hounslow garage where this role will be based.
Join us at an exciting time of development, where Engineering is being led by a strategy of continuous improvement which includes a competency framework for engineering staff and maps the way from Shop Floor Engineer to Engineering Director. As Engineering Manager, you will be expected to identify and drive initiatives which will make the garage work smarter, to deliver the efficiencies that London United needs. Leading by example, you will be required to engage, manage and motivate a complex multi-skilled team and deliver and manage change.
The successful candidate will have previous experience as an Engineer/Workshop Manager or as a Working Charge Hand within the transport industry, where delivery is paramount. You will also have financial awareness and the ability to manage, analyse and report on a complex profit and loss budget. A proven track record of turning the performance of a garage around for the better will give you an added advantage
A relevant Engineering qualification at NVQ Level 3 or equivalent is required. Knowledge and understanding of VOSA requirements and a relevant qualification in Health and Safety Management are essential. You will also have proficient computer skills particularly in Excel and Outlook combined with the ability to quickly learn other applications.
