A manual six-speed overdrive gearbox was selected for accurate operator control at slow speeds. The left-hand drive chassis also features a specialised chassis specification for fitment of its Stocks Sweeper bodywork, with a 130-litre plastic diesel tank mounted in the rear overhand between the two frames.
A sun visor, polished rear-view mirror guards and a rooftop light bar add to the truck’s customised look, while Aggrecom’s new livery was designed, supplied and applied by Ashfield Signs.
The Stocks Sweepers S6400 sweeper body has a 6.5 cubic metre capacity and a twin-discharge system. Powered by a JCB auxiliary engine, the clean water tank can hold up to 1,600 litres, while the rotary brushes give a 3,650mm maximum swept path.
Driver Fran Lowe says of the new FL: “It’s a big step up from the other marque I came off.”
He adds: “I like the four-camera safety system, the reversing parking sensor and the extra lights for night sweeping. The driver’s seat is proving extremely comfortable and the interior design impresses me. A bottle holder in the right place may seem trivial, but detail like that makes all the difference to a driver.”
