Supplied by Volvo Truck and Bus Centre London, the two FL rigids are equipped with day cabs and feature low-level nearside windows for improved visibility.
They also have steel rear suspension and are powered by 7.7-litre Volvo D8K engines, producing 250bhp and up to 950Nm of torque, which is transmitted through six-speed overdrive gearboxes.
Both feature Hyva skiploader bodywork with a lifting capacity of up to 12 tonnes.
The North London-based operator is a gold FORS member and the FL skip trucks have been specified to meet this standard. As well as the low-level window, drivers have all-round views from the cab thanks to rear-facing cameras as standard. Both vehicles also have nearside and forward facing cameras, and a side scanner to alert the driver.
“We have also fitted an audio system, so when the driver indicates left a caution is sounded externally, announcing to those in the vicinity that the truck is turning left,” says Jacqui O’Donovan, managing director.
“Driver safety and visibility from the cab are also of vital importance to us, as is reliability. Volvo satisfies these fundamentals and that is why the majority of our 85-strong fleet is Volvo.”
