UK haulier Armistead European Transport has added three new curtainsiders from Schmitz Cargobull to its trailer fleet.

It said it was impressed with the longevity and robustness of the assets it first bought from the manufacturer five years ago and used for

weekly multi-drops from north Lancashire to locations in Germany.

Andrew Armistead, managing director of Armistead European Transport, says: “Our trailers are on a demanding and varied schedule between the UK and Europe so it’s really important they can handle all types of work. We can transport a 25-tonne payload full of paper one day and chemicals the next.”

Each new trailer has been constructed on Schmitz Cargobull’s Modulus bolted chassis that provides an axle load of up to 27 tonnes, and feature the company’s Rotos running gear.

Based in Carnforth, Armistead European Transport has an 18-strong trailer fleet and provides a range of haulage services throughout the UK and Europe including daily deliveries and collections in Belgium, France, Germany and the Netherlands.
