Bus operator Arriva Southern Counties has invested £840,000 in six low-carbon Wrightbus StreetLites for operation in and around Royal Tunbridge Wells.
The 8.8m wheel-forward StreetLites incorporate the Micro Hybrid function, which redistributes surplus energy from the braking system to save power and fuel.
The interior features include brighter lighting, leather seating and free on-board Wi-Fi.
The StreetLites are replacements for four 57-plate Enviro200s, which are being deployed on other routes.
This latest deal means Arriva has invested more than £6 million since July 2014 in new buses for its depots in Kent and Medway.
More StreetLites will be entering the fleet during 2015.
