Scottish operator switches on to fuel performance of StreetLites

Bus & Coach
Scottish coach operator Wilson’s of Rhu has ordered its first two vehicles from Wrightbus – an 8.8m and a 9.5m StreetLite – with assistance from Transport for Scotland’s Green Bus Fund.

Both vehicles have the Euro 5 Cummins engine, as well as Wrightbus's Micro Hybrid technology, which redistributes surplus energy from the braking system to save power and fuel.

The Argyll-based business will take delivery of the StreetLites in May and they will go into operation on routes in and around Helensburgh.

"We've heard great things about the Wrightbus StreetLite and our purchasing decision was mainly due to its highly rated fuel consumption performance and reliability record," says Wilson's Alistair Wilson.
