Senior traffic commissioner Richard Turfitt (pictured) has announced new guidance to help the transport industry in response to the Covid-19 outbreak.
The statutory document, see link below, sets out the “balanced approach” that the regulators are adopting, including flexible working practices.
The document includes advice for operators on issues such as inability to meet financial standing requirement and what to do if a transport manager cannot attend work.
It also covers what operators should do if they are unable to access their operating centres, and the approach regulators will take for short notice requests to change local bus services.
