Bevan expands glass-carrying capability with business acquisition

Commercial vehicle bodybuilder Bevan Group has acquired Supertrucks, a manufacturer of specialised glass-carrying vehicles.
Supertrucks supplies and fits glass-carrying bodies and 'frails' (racks) for rigid trucks and vans from its production facility in St Helens, Merseyside. The deal, for an undisclosed sum, sees Supertrucks' founder and former chairman Peter Wright staying on in a consultancy role. The decision by West Midlands-based bodybuilder Bevan Group to purchase the business comes less than a year after it launched its own glass-carrying vehicle. "Supertrucks represents an exciting new addition to the Bevan Group portfolio and we look forward to growing the business with the enthusiastic support of the team in St Helens," says Anthony Bevan, managing director. Last year, Bevan Group partnered with Schmitz Cargobull to make temperature-controlled bodywork for rigid vehicles. Later in the year, it also took a stake in A&R Vehicle Services and announced a partnership with DEL Equipment to maintain tail-lifts.
