The last of the trailers ordered by Allied Bakeries from Cartwright earlier in the year has now been delivered, with the operator now running six quite different vehicles.
The vehicles ranged from 7.5-tonne to double-deck box van semi trailers, and also included urban semi trailers, standard semi-trailer curtainsiders and standard box van semi-trailers.
Allied Bakeries says the investment is part of a programme to better manage distribution costs and reduce its carbon footprint.
As a result, many of the Cartwright trailers came complete with aerodynamics tailored to meet the functional requirements for each vehicle – including improving on past issues, such as rear frame damage.
All the trailers are based on Cartwright's Fastback or Cheetah aerodynamics designs, while the curtainsiders were produced to EN12642XL unrestrained load standard to future-proof the Allied transport operation.
